Week 45 of 2026
Greetings all!
It’s been a very productive week here. I’m about finished with edits to The Breaking of Oaths, which is book 2 of the Youngest Thegn Saga.
But more importantly right now: The Shattering of Spears pre-order is live!
Don’t worry, we’ll get back to cat pictures soon, but I’m pretty pleased about the Youngest Thegn Saga. It’s an honor to get to write these. I aimed to write books that 10 year old me would’ve loved and I think I did.

As I say, I’m almost done with The Breaking of Oaths, but not only that, I started book 3. Not much, just a few hundred words, but that’s a start.
I also threw a few things at the page for my new 4HU story, though that was more in the way of getting the file made and putting notes and ideas down on the page. Still, it’s a start.
And, of course, my other big project right now is adding all the pictures from our Italy trip up on my Substack. We reached Venice today, which means I’m about halfway through the collection. I will be making a special page for the Italy trip, by the way, that collects all the blog posts and picture links on one page. It was a massive trip, so there’s a lot there, but it’ll be worth exploring, I promise.
In other news, I put on armor for the first time in a while. First time since I’ve lost weight, so I felt great doing it. My balance was off and I never once got my feet right, but it was nice to get hit again.
Now, it’s time to be silly. I can’t afford to go see Rush in Las Vegas, right? I mean, I saw every tour they’ve done since Signals, and this isn’t really another tour. And I shouldn’t contemplate spending whatever insane amount it’ll be to see them in the Sphere?
Right?
Sigh. I’m totally gonna look at prices so, um… buy my books, y’all!

This week’s show was amazing! Well, after we fought the technical difficulties. And the scheduling challenges. Honestly, props to Orson Scott Card for his patience! We’ve been trying to do this show for a while and when the stars finally aligned, it did not, predictably, go smoothly.
